Sherman Boughton, a native of Lake Providence, Louisiana, graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 1995. His practice is devoted to litigation and real estate. His clients include nursing homes, hospitals, manufacturers, contractors, insurers, property owners, and lenders. In addition to handling litigation matters for these clients, he has handled commercial transactions including closings, contract negotiations, office, retail, agricultural, and recreational leases. Mr. Boughton also advises clients in matters of estate planning, successions, and elder law. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana.

Mr. Boughton's litigation practice is broad and includes medical malpractice defense, toxic tort defense, products liability defense, various real property issues, contract disputes, public and private works act claims, foreclosures, title insurance defense and bad faith insurance defense. Mr. Boughton is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rated Lawyer and has been listed in Louisiana Super Lawyers, General Litigation and Real Estate.

Mr. Boughton has been and continues to be involved in a variety of professional and community activities. He served in the Louisiana State Bar Association's House of Delegates from 1997 - 2002. He has served as a member of the Plimsoll and International Business Committees of the World Trade Center of New Orleans. He served as a board member at large of the Audubon Riverside Neighborhood Association, and he currently serves as treasurer of the board of WRBH Reading Radio, where he also volunteers his time as a reader. In 2000 he was elected Coroner of East Carroll Parish, Louisiana.
